We’re in the beautiful month of May and magic is pulsing! We’ve had an eventful and inspiring past year of projects and adventures. Currently All Around Artsy owner / director Kira Bursky is scuba diving through the rabbit hole of metaphysics and magic as research for her feature screenplay. In the next couple of months she has writing-research trips lined up to VA, NYC and Columbia, South America.

Last month on April 2, 2019 at Trade and Lore Coffee in downtown Asheville, NC we held our yearly All Around Artsy screening event where we premiered three new music videos. Our current YouTube fanbase now stands at 28,000+ subscribers and 13million+ views. Over the past year we screened at festivals worldwide from Los Angeles to Berlin, Germany and won 5 Best Of awards. We produced 10+ music videos as well as “Psalm Space,” a 6 episode 22-minute series for flutist and composer Peg Luke. We did editing and motion graphics work for notable alcohol brands such as SKYY Vodka, Champagne Armand de Brignac and Bulldog Gin. We edited 6 short documentaries for Better World Ed and 6 Call-to-Action videos for SumOfUs.

We created a mobile app for filmmakers called “Critiqr” that is available on the Apple and Google Play stores. Critiqr launched in NYC at AMC Theaters Times Square during the All-American High School Film Festival and was featured on Nofilmschool.com. We have users in 10 countries and have connected filmmakers to 185+ critiques thus far. We are very happy with the results of this startup adventure, but are currently pausing on developing it out any further as we focus our energies on the production of our feature film. We thank everyone who was a part of the fantastic journey.

Read on to find out more about our past year plus some upcoming plans!

Milestones, April Screenings and Sneak Previews!

All Around Artsy Milestones

We have so many updates to make! First off, here's our new reel for 2018!:

We are celebrating All Around Artsy's second film to pass 1 million views on Youtube: "Wild Flowers," produced by the fashion eyewear company Massada Eyewear. Our film "Close to the Window" also just recently passed 1 million views on Miao Pai, a Chinese video platform. So exciting to have our work seen by so many people!

The All Around Artsy Youtube channel officially passed 10,000 subscribers! It's so surreal to have this growing, supportive audience for my strange worlds & ideas... I'm so grateful and excited for the future. Cheers to dreamers, creators and chance-takers!

Out Magazine Premiere of "Closet Made of Sheets"

Today is an amazing day! So excited to share with you the Out Magazine online premiere of my short film "Closet Made of Sheets." Check out the film and my interview which focuses a lot on identity and bisexual erasure in media. It's been a dream of mine to premiere a film through Out. You can find the article here.

Secondly, this week I found out that three of my films (Closet Made of Sheets, Wild Flowers, and Demon Pills) are all official selections of CineKink which takes place in NYC from March 14th-18th. I just booked my plane tickets! NYC friends: please feel free to meet up with me at this sexuality-empowering film festival!

Speak out, share your truth, and be vulnerable. Life is crazy and beautiful and full of unexpected magic.

Grenada Afterthought Award.jpg

Wowie zowie! What an incredible weekend. I had work screening at 3 different festivals and I won an award at each one! Can't believe it. "To and From" won Grenada Afterglow Film Festival's Best AfterTHOUGHT award as well as Best NC Short Film at North Carolina Family Film Festival. "Close to the Window," the documentary I made while in Paris as a collab with the beautiful & magical poet Sojourner Ahébée, won Best College Doc at All-American High School Film Festival. So happy and thankful to all my collaborators and to the fests for sharing my work!

"We Are the People"

Some amazing news! On top of "Closet Made of Sheets" getting accepted into Cucalorus Festival (my favorite film festival!) where it will have it's film festival premiere, I just found out that the music video I directed for VIA's song "We Are the People" has also been accepted into the fest where it will screen during their kick-ass party event called "Visual/Sound/Walls" - I was excited before... but now I'm ecstatic! Cannot wait to attend for my fourth year in November!

"Demon Pills" officially released + film fest updates

We are excited to officially release "Demon Pills" - winner of Runner Up for Best Film at the 48 Hour Film Project: New Orleans.

A lesbian couple welcome a demon into the mix to spice things up...

Hope you enjoy our shenanigans!

We are also excited to announce that both "To and From" and our music video for Ian Ridenhour's "Dancing Children" are official selections at FilmSPARK which takes place September 15-17 at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, NC.
